Administrative core

Core Director: Tom K. Hei

The Administrative Core provides an administrative infrastructure that allows efficient communication between all Projects, Cores, Committees, and Participating Investigators of the project. This core provides overall leadership and administrative support to the projects and core, and assists in tracking the progress of each project in achieving the program goals. In addition, the Administrative Core arranges regular meetings of the participating investigators and Advisory committees.

The administrative core will provide the following administrative and management tasks:

Aim 1: To provide planning and coordination of research activities
The administrative core coordinates the three research projects and the technical research core through regularly scheduled program meetings with the project leader and the core director to monitor the progress made and the overall direction of the program. To promote interaction between projects, the core will coordinate research progress meetings, seminars and colloquia between members of the program.

Aim 2: To provide oversight of fiscal and resource management
The administrative core provides the financial management of all accounts and, in conjunction with the executive committee, will allocate resource and beam time based on progress and genuine need.

Aim 3: To solicit independent advice and direction through advisory committee and communication with the National Cancer Institute program officer
The administrative core coordinates annual on-site meeting with members of the external advisory committee and an additional teleconference call every six months. The executive committee will meet formally once a month to review the overall program status.
